You have several options, depending on the violation for which the citation was issued. Please read over the information on the Court Website and should your question not be answered contact our office at (940) 683-3420 to discuss your options and to get the information that will help you process your ticket. Please note that a phone call does not qualify as an appearance.
The court offers the option to "defer" or postpone the disposition of your case and place you on probation for a specified period of time. During the deferral period, you must comply with the terms and conditions of your deferral. Terms vary. Please be aware the type of offense you have been charged with, the facts of your particular case and/or your criminal history may be considered to determine if you are eligible for deferral. If you successfully comply with the terms of your deferral in the timeframe ordered by the Court, your case will be dismissed. If any requirements are not met and you cannot provide a satisfactory reason why, at a hearing before a judge, you may be found guilty. If your offense is reportable to the Department of Public Safety (DPS), the Court will provide notice of conviction to DPS.

The Court may dismiss a no insurance citation if you provide written proof of valid insurance at the time of the offense and the Court is able to verify with the insurance company that the insurance was valid and covered the defendant and the vehicle being driven. The written proof of insurance should have the policy number, effective date, expiration, vehicle information, and insurance agents name and contact number in order for the Court to be able to obtain confirmation of coverage.
If you remedy the defect not later than the 20th working day after the date of the citation being issued and bring a receipt from the vehicle registration office as proof the delinquent registration fee has been paid; the court may dismiss the charges with a paid $20 dismissal fee.
